Bone plates

When? Bone plates are used to control the growth of jaws during a growth spurt, but also to enable the movement of specific teeth. For some patients, the orthodontist recommends the use of one or more bone plates.
What is it? The oral and maxillofacial surgeon installs these plates, thereby ensuring additional orthodontic possibilities. The surgeon installs the bone plates through an incision in the gums.
How? The entire procedure is performed through the mouth. The bone plates are removed once they are no longer needed.
