What is it?

Blood loss from in and around the anus is always a reason to consult your GP. This may be due to piles or haemorrhoids, but sometimes further examinations are necessary. Your GP will refer you to a specialist, if necessary. Sometimes, the blood loss can be so abundant that hospitalisation is required.
