Ethical committee

Ethical committee

As of 1 April 2018, our ethics committee has been a fully recognised ethics committee. This allows it to act as a lead ethics committee (LEC) in clinical trials, under the law of 7 May 2004. The authorisation is for a period of four years. On 1 April 2022, the recognition was extended for another term until 30 March 2026.

The ethics committee is involved in the ethical aspects of patient care and scientific research. A clinical trial or experiment should not and cannot start without the approval of a competent body.

Besides its reviewing role in the context of (clinical) studies, the ethics committee also provides advice on ethical aspects in healthcare.

The members of our ethics committee can be found here.
