Artificial ventilation

In case of acute failure of pulmonary function, it may be necessary to take over the lungs' function using a ventilator. Initially, people may benefit from a face mask to breathe air into the lungs, with the patient's cooperation. For more serious forms of pulmonary function failure, it may be necessary to place a thin tube in between the vocal cords before initiating the artificial breathing.
