When should you visit a fertility specialist?

The inability to achieve pregnancy immediately can be a source of stress for both partners. But it’s also not at all unusual to try to conceive naturally for a year.

Couples who are unable to conceive after one year are advised to contact a fertility specialist. Do you have concerns, an irregular cycle or medical history? Are you older than 35 or simply have questions? You are always welcome to contact us sooner for a conversation or to undergo testing.

Fertility treatments are not limited to the most visible option — IVF — and they often do not need to be invasive. Fortunately, we offer varied, ever-improving treatments to help couples who would like to have children. The treatment that is most indicated will, of course, be chosen in consultation with the patient.

  • Mondays and Wednesdays with Dr Billiet - Gordunakaai 73, Ghent.

  • Morning consultations on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are held alternatively at both locations.

Patients who are already being treated at our centre can book an appointment here.

Technical procedures

Technical procedures

For technical procedures, such as insemination, pick-up or transfer, we use the facilities at the Jan Palfijn General Hospital (Watersportbaan, Henri Dunantlaan 5, Ghent). The physician will inform you about when the procedure is to be performed, and you will receive all the necessary information about the preparations and process.
